The view from here.

I just had my first English Back Bacon sandwich in over two years.  I am in heaven!!  (Yesterday I was in jet induced La La Land.)  Now, I’ll make a quick visit to the Andover Square Market and then off to visit my dear friend Sarah in St. Mary Bourne and my bench overlooking the Bourne Valley.

Welcome to The NEW News Page!

Welcome to our new and improved website.  I think this will be a grand way for me to let you know all the details of this wonderful life.

Check in every month for a new Jo'folk letter with all of the news from where I am going and where I have been.  Stories of mountain life, past and present, will be posted here as well.

Last night I stopped in at the Old Marshall Depot to hear the Adams Family Band and to play a few tunes myself.  The crowd was enthusiastic and the setting perfect with the full moon reflected in the dark waters of the French Broad.

For those of you who have never been, you have no idea what you are missing.  Authentic mountain music and dancing, old fashion cake walks, raffles and the best hot dog this side of, well, you know!
There is no charge for admission.  The Depot is open every Friday night from 7 PM until the bands run out.  The Old Depot, Main St., Marshall, N.C.

Well, the Radio-Active Band and I are gearing up for a new season with a new album called '53 Pontiac.  As always, our first show is here at home, Saturday, April 21 at The Arts Center, 90 S. Main Street, Marshall, N.C.   The evening will be opened by the talented Miss Sarah Tucker.

I will be joined by Laura Boosinger and Rod Bowling for a little 60's radio drama as well as a lot of songs and stories.

Of course, my trusty sidekicks, Cathy Arrowood and Gina Mashburn Caldwell (AKA The Moaning Lisas), will be doing their best to keep me on track and in tune with their musical mastery,  great sense of humor and a big stick.

If you are in the neighborhood, come on out, if not watch for us soon in your town.  For tickets or information call (828)649-1301 or visit www.madisoncountyarts.com .

That's enough for this beautiful spring morning.  I think I'll go out and enjoy it.

Much love, joe
